What's Sandwich Saturdays All About??

In my most recent studies and as I dig deeper in the word, I realize, we are a sad world right now. There is so much pain, hopelessness and sorrow. Here in Houston, on every corner there is someone begging for food, money, work, or the likes. There are often even those that state, "Will work for beer". They admit their pain publically, as well as their means for relief, and ask us to help them.

Joyce Meyers just released a book and is doing a conference, The Love Revelolution....and let me tell you, we (the world) could sure use one. Imagine a word full of just love, no pain, no hurt...just love. If we could reverse the tables of todays times, what would that look like? Better yet, what can we as individuals do to be a part of the solution?

A lot already do quite a bit, some do a little, some none at all...I myself, have had great intentions, yet, failed my own excitement...BUT, those times are over. REMEMBER, love is NOT a feeling, it is an ACTION...so, thus Sandwich Saturdays...

For less than $25 I plan to feed at least 25, how do you ask? Picture this, or better yet...TRY IT! Here's your shopping list:

2 Loaves of Bread
1 Jar of Mayo
1 Jar of Mustard
2 Lg package of Meat
2 Package Cheese
1 Package Sandwich Cookies
2 Boxes of Ziploc Baggies
2 Packages of Luncheon Paper bags
2 Case of Water
Optional items would be getting a couple of the bulk variety chips.

*you could also use peanut butter and jelly.

On Friday night gather friends, family and or your children, and make sandwiches and bag them up. Since we are doing this to show love, the real kind of love Christ taught us to show, maybe include a scripture card, a letter you've typed, or a printed prayer. I am creating a suggested printout to help and will post it later. When you are all finished, pray over them, remembering we are feeding the hungry and they need the love a Savior.

On Saturday morning, you'll be ready to go...gather some friends, and go....as you pass the bags out, maybe pray with the individual, spend some time in converstation. It may have been a long time since someone has just listened to them.
